the Julius Pittman Review knocked me down. Who the hell is that guy and why ain't he famous? Other than Booker T and the MGs, that's the best soul band I've ever heard. Their version of Sam and Dave's "You Got Me Hummin'" was incredible. I never heard anybody else try to cover it, for good reason. It's a monster to replicate, from Sam's vocal gymnastics to the funky stops-- and that band covered it just like the MGs did it live- one helluva performance. It impresses me too that everybody in that band could sing their asses off as well as play like a bunch of '70s soul men. You can bring those guys back anytime by themselves and blow the doors off the joint. I bet you'd have to to set fire to the place to get people out of there while those guys were playing-- love to see more of them...
